Early morning on week days is a perfect time to visit here. Stopped by breakfast and couldn’t finish the plate of food… too much.. My omelette was huge. Fresh hash-browns and a homemade biscuit were just as big. I certainly enjoyed how often there were refilling my coffee. Everything was just perfect. Thanks to the attentive, friendly staff!
My brother and I decided to visit Black Bear Diner while we waited for my car to get serviced at Earnhardt Honda. It was a weekday so it surprised us by how busy they were -it was Friday though, so that might be why. Upon arrival we had to wait around 15+ minutes to be seated for a party of two. They signed us up via text, so that allowed us to walked around the plaza a bit instead of having to wait around with everybody else. We were finally sat down and promptly helped by our server. I had the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, without cilantro or red onion because it was my first time and I didn't want the flavor to be altered. I tried ordering the cold brew but it had a milky look that was off-putting, so instead I had hot coffee. The burrito was delicious! It did need a dash more salt for my taste, but the flavor itself was delightful. My brother had the cinnamon french toast, which he said was enjoyable, but maybe a bit too sweet. Pictured is also the spicy sausage patties, the hobo omelette, and chili bowl.
Everything looked so great on the menu and I couldn't decide. For some reason I thought I could get a bear burger.. So dumbly I asked.. The waitress did mention something about a double cheese burger with egg that was off an old menu that should be called that I thought.. but then she mentioned it was Friday.. and the boys and I decided we should feast...so we decided to push the limit of the All-You-Can-Eat Fish and hush puppies.. and it did not disappoint.. My friend who rarely eats put down more food then I've ever seen.. and my other friend I stuuuffffed ourselves with about 7+ pieces of fish, fries, bunch of hush puppies and coleslaw. Our compliments to the chef. The fish was fried to a perfect golden brown and came steaming hot each time we got 2 more pieces. We had the best time, thankfully our waitress had patience with us..It was our first time there and a long time since we saw each other. She was our hero helping us fill our gullets full like Kings. The cute little bear paw logos on everything really makes this place unique. We tried all three hot sauces and each one has its own character that we liked. Would Recommend this place to everyone. All the food that came out to other tables looked so great.
A true diner experience, came in on a Saturday and it was pretty busy but still only a 15 minute wait. Parking can get a little tight in the morning. I had the Hobo Joe Omelet and my wife had a regular breakfast. If you like crispy hashbrowns you will have to request it so. The pancakes were by far my favorite, loaded with flavor and fluffy texture. The ham, bacon and sausage were all pretty good. Definitely enjoyed the portion sizes as we were able to share some of our meal with our toddlers. The coffee and food was good but not extraordinary. Again, the portion sizes are what is the key point here. I recommend this spot if you're in the need of a quick breakfast that is above the quality that IHOP or Denny's provides.
