Since reopening: Food is good as usual, if you've been expect the same deliciousness as before. The new look provides brighter lights and lighter walls so the rooms feel bigger in a way. The staff was extra friendly and very attentive. The bar door was locked and everyone needed to go into the main door an wait to be seated. Long lines as usual but the wait wasn't too bad.

After the remodel, I'm giving it 1 more star! The structure is the same but the lighter color scheme makes the entire place feel less cramped. The decor now has some art pieces from local Arizona artists. There are permanent plexiglass dividers in some rooms. The complimentary chip basket is bigger and better! Each table still has its own bottle of red salsa to drown your taste buds with all the spice you can handle. The menu look has been revamped as well with a few new options. The popular traditional dishes are still available, and the few I've tried taste the same as I remember. Give yourself at least 30 minutes to park, wait to get seated, to get your order taken and get your food. Servings are still huge. Go hungry... but not too hungry. ????

The shredded chicken burrito was so good, the chicken was so delicious. The restaurant’s decor is really cute with the outdoor/indoor feel. I would caution tall people, because there are some areas where the headroom is low. There are also 2 doors, one to enter & see the hostess to be seated and another near the bar. If you enter by the bar (which we did) you have to walk through the restaurant to the hostess to be seated. It’s a little weird.

Ponchos is an iconic Mexican restaurant, in the heart of South Phoenix, that I have been going to for the last 25 years now. The food is excellent. The margaritas are bomb. Their salsa is to die for. You have to go and check it out, if you get a chance.

I love this rode side spot. The construction on the street places it right in ur face. U have 2 pass right by it. The food was very nice. A guy in line recommend the dish w/ red sauce. We didn't get it but he lit up about the dish. Our food hit the hunger spot. Pretty ladies make the food better as well. Hey ladies????????????????????????????????????????????????
